2024

In April 2024, we (HTH) entered into an agreement with the copyright owners to further develop the Pik-26 aircraft. To clarify, the new aircraft is now named as MiniSytky-26. The first step involved utilizing existing drawings to create a 3D model based on them. During this modeling process, several dimensions were discovered to be incorrect or missing. Additionally, some hand-drawn improvements that are known to be included in the latest builds have been incorporated. .

1998-2024

It is believed that sixteen examples of Pik-26 are completed and flying.

First flight of OH-U355 was done 10.8.1998.

1991

Kai Mellen started designing a single seater, what eventually became Pik-26. The starting point was a half VW engine, Mosler, which was said to produce 35 hp. At the same time, the Finnish aviation authority published revised rules for ultralight aircraft. MTOW was not limiting for single seater, but maximum stall speed of 65 km/h IAS.
